Choosing an inflatable obstacle course

Our obstacle and assault courses include shorter one-piece inflatables and longer courses made from several sections. They offer different routes through inflatable obstacles, with climbing and sliding elements. Check the age or height restrictions and setup dimensions for the model you choose.

The small adult assault course is a one-section option for suitable adults and children, with obstacles and a slide. It requires at least 3ft of access width and will not pass through a standard single-width door. Shorter overall length does not remove the need for clear space around it.

For children’s parties, compare the two-section Party Themed Assault Course and Rainbow Party Time Spiro Obstacle Course. These give participants a route through obstacles and a slide finish. The product pages explain the individual layouts and suitability.

For a bigger setup, the 65ft three-section obstacle course adds a longer run of obstacles. Our Army Assault Course can be configured using different numbers of sections, up to 100ft. Choose the length that fits your event and budget, allowing for the complete setup area, entry and exit clearance.

Planning your event

For school and community events, think about where participants will queue, how they will leave the course and who will supervise each activity. We can discuss the layout, access and power supply before you book.

Tell us whether the course is for a birthday, school celebration, community event or company gathering. We can help you compare models, arrange suitable turns and plan space for queues and supervision. A responsible adult must supervise the activity; ask us about staffing if you need support for a larger event.

For other activities alongside the course, explore our bouncy castles, inflatable games, slides and garden games. Soft play and ball pools provide separate options for younger children, while packages combine several items.

Indoor venues to consider

For indoor obstacle-course hire in and around Bedford, the following venue guides are worth exploring. A hall’s overall size does not guarantee a particular course will fit: check the model, headroom, access and clearances with us.

Christ the King Church Hall, Harrowden Road has a spacious main hall where we regularly supply bouncy castles, castle-and-slide combinations and soft play. Its long layout also provides options for selected obstacle courses and setups with several activities. A kitchen and private off-road parking are useful for party organisers.

The Addison Centre, Kempston offers a large main hall with options for bigger castles, multi-section assault courses and inflatable games. Its foyer, kitchen, bar and private car park support larger family celebrations and community events.

For more local venues, browse our venue directory for hall information, facilities and equipment suggestions. If you’re unsure what will fit at your chosen venue, ask us before booking—we’ll help you plan a suitable setup.

Confirm current facilities and hire arrangements directly with the venue, and allow time for delivery, setup and collection within your hall booking.

Outdoor setup and seasonal hire

For outdoor inflatable hire, we require a suitable area of natural grass where we can secure the equipment safely. We don’t install outdoor inflatables on patios, concrete, tarmac or artificial grass. Our guide to bouncy castles on hard standing explains why.

From November to April, our inflatable hire is indoors only. Outdoor bookings also depend on safe weather conditions; our wind-speed guide explains how wind affects whether a booking can go ahead.

Why book with Sundorne Bouncy Castles?

We’re a family-run business with around 20 years’ experience, operating full time. You can speak to us about equipment choices, venue restrictions and delivery arrangements before you book.

We handle the installation, check the equipment’s position and give the supervising adult a safety handover. Our electrical equipment is PAT tested and we hold £5 million public liability insurance.

Applicable inflatables are inspected through PIPA or by an approved RPII inspector against BS EN 14960 requirements, alongside our regular checks and maintenance. Read more about our inflatable testing and bouncy castle safety.
